Will SEMA 2020 Be Cancelled Due to The Coronavirus Pandemic?

SEMA Show is arguably the biggest and best automotive event in the world. Each year, over 2,400 exhibitors take over the Las Vegas Convention center and showcase thousands of new parts, tools, and components being introduced to the automotive aftermarket industry.

The 2020 show is currently scheduled later this year on November 3–6. The question on everyone’s mind is whether the show will go on? According to a statement on the SEMA Show website, plans for the November SEMA Show continue to move forward as scheduled.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to develop and revise our daily lives, many events around the globe have had to either postpone to a future date or cancel all together. Since early March, we have been reporting on classic car shows that have been cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus.

We have also been monitoring classic car auctions that are continuing online due to social distancing measures.  SEMA Show however, certainly cannot be held online and would be an extremely difficult show to postpone due to the busy nature of the Las Vegas Convention center. We are certain that there are already plenty of other conventions and events that have already been rescheduled and that future events have already fully booked the convention center’s calendar.

There is hope however that the SEMA Show will go on in November as planned. We regularly follow The ClassicCars.com Journal Podcast and this week, Tom Stahler, managing editor and host of the podcast, interviews SEMA Vice President of Events, Tom Gattuso.  He dives right in to find out more details about the questions everyone is asking. Will SEMA 2020 Be Cancelled Due to The Coronavirus Pandemic?

We wanted to share this podcast in its entirety. Tune in and enjoy the latest podcast and we hope to see everyone safely getting back to normal life in the weeks to come.
