Classic Datsun Restoration Project Gallery
Datsun was originally named Datson to represent it as a small version of the DAT car, a larger car made by the DAT Motorcar company. In 1934 DAT Motorcar Co was taken over by Nissan and the last syllable of Datson was changed to "sun", because "son" represents "loss" in the Japanese language. It was also meant to honor the sun in the Japanese flag and that is how it became "Datsun" until it was discontinued in 1986. Please enjoy the pictures of the classic Datsun restorations we have done here at Wilson Auto Repair.
