1955 Chevy Truck Fabrication and Chrome Job Done at Wilson Auto Repair

This 1955 Chevy pickup is at our shop getting some work done to make the engine bay to look better.

The truck has already had its bumpers chromed and now its time to focus on what is under the hood.

We fabricated an engine cover, installed chrome valve covers, a chrome alternator and polished hood hinges.

First thing to do was to make ourselves a template for the engine cover.

Here is a shot of the raw metal after cutting out from the template and the lines are stamped in.

We did a test fit to make sure everything lined up right and make room for the radiator cap.

Then we send it to primer and it will also need some final touches to get it ready for paint.

In the meantime, we replaced the stock valve covers with chrome ones.

We also installed the chrome alternator.

Here are a couple close up pics of the chrome hinges.

The engine cover is back from paint and we install it.  It looks really nice!  It certainly finishes off the engine compartment!
